Motion Capture

My passion for blackbox theatre meets my passion for technology and animation.

Part performer, part technician

At USC, under the guidance of John Brennan I had the incredible opportunity to learn the technology behind the motion capture... along with getting many opportunities to jump in the suit myself. It was then I discovered a love for motion capture acting.

I developed a knowledge and familiarity of the OptiTrack system at USC as well as skill in data cleanup in Motive, retargeting in Motionbuilder and Maya and final scene building in Unreal Engine, gaining experience in the full motion capture pipeline. I combine these technological skills with my acting training and passion for fight directing to tell one cohesive story. In a way, working in motion capture is the perfect blend of everything I love most.

Check out this compilation below of various characters I have performed in the suit!

Check out this short film below of one of my favorite motion capture projects, where I portray Batman in a game-cinematic style fight scene, custom choreographed by myself along with my stage combat mentor Edgar Landa (fighting with me here as Deathstroke!)

And below, you can view some behind the scenes side-by-side studio footage of the project!
