BATMAN

Nightmare in Gotham

Also found on my motion capture page, this has been one of my proudest works to date. As part of the Motion Capture Fundamentals class taught by John Brennan at USC, our final assignment was to create a short film using motion capture. I learned how to use the OptiTrack system and how to clean up data, and retargeting, along with integration into Maya and Unreal Engine.

As a lifelong DC fan, I was inspired by Rocksteady's Batman Arkham games and wrote this short film. My stage combat teacher and I co-choreographed the sequence, with him as Deathstroke and myself as Batman. I then cleaned up data in Motive (painstaking), retargeted in Maya onto models from Batman: Arkham City, modeled & textured the rooftop, simulated cloth, then lit, rendered, composited, edited, and sound mixed the scene.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Our Optitrack system didn't capture finger motion... leaving it all to be hand-animated.
